    01 - How to rent a car.

    There are two available ways to reserve a car for a person at Unidas, www.unidas.com.br/reservas or through Unidas Reserve Center phone 0800 121 121. If you prefer it your travel agency can also make this reservation. At Unidas you count on more than 100 points to assist you all over Brazil, in the main capitals and airports.

    02 - How is the rental period calculated.

    A day of rental is counted every 24 hours. In case the vehicle be returned after the appointed time for that, each extra hour will be charged by 1/6 of the adjusted daily rate. After the sixth additional hour it will be charged another daily rate. On what concerns to the “Unidas Protection” it will be charged a whole daily payment of the contracted protection after the first hour of tolerance.

    03 - May I return the car after the appointed time?

    Yes. After that time you still have an hour of tolerance to return the vehicle to us. If you exceed this period you lost that tolerance time and will be charged 1/6 of the adjusted daily rate up for each hour of delay up to 6 hours performing a total of one daily rate after those six hours.

    04 - May I keep the car more days than firstly reserved?

    Yes. You must contact the shop where you picked up the vehicle for that and inform the new date to bring it back.

    05 - How to cancel a reservation.

    If an expected event happens and you aren’t able to pick up the car at the reserved time just call our Reserve Center through phone nr. 0800 121 121.

    06 - How about the fuel?

    The renter must return the car with the same quantity of fuel it was picked up. If the car is returned with less fuel Unidas will complete it and the client must accept to be charged according Unidas table of fuel. By other hand if the car is returned with more fuel Unidas won’t reimburse any exceeding one.

    07 - May I rent a car with a driver?

    Unidas offers private driver services even a bilingual one. Get more information about it through Unidas Reserve Center ph. Nr. 0800 121 121.

    08 - How shall I proceed in emergency situations?

    Unidas offers a 24 hours Reserve Center toll free phone number 0800 772 0994 to all its clients.

    09 - May I leave the country with a Unidas car?

    You’re not allowed to leave the country with a Unidas car.

    10 - What do I need to rent and to drive a Unidas car?

    1. To rent a car at Unidas one must: 1.1 – Show an ID and CPF (if Brazilian). It’s enough to present RG or original CNH which contains CPF number. 1.2 – Show a personal credit card for pre-authorization and to have their information checked and approved by our company. 2. The renter, appointed driver or additional driver must have a CNH emitted and valid throughout the country to ride the car. 2.1 – If the renter doesn’t fulfill Unidas conditions to drive the car they may nominate a driver but agreeing in that case not to ride the vehicle and to assume all responsibilities for the acts of the nominated one. 2.2 – In contracts where the renter, additional or nominated driver has a driver license with less than two years the only protection available will be the Junior one. 3. The rules to rent a car for a foreigner citizen must be checked at the shop where it will be picked up. About Pre-Authorization. What it is. It’s separating a certain amount on the renter’s credit card as a guarantee. This amount will be subtracted from the limit of the credit card, but not collected, at the moment of picking the car up and automatically given back when the vehicle is returned and its rental paid.     11 - May I include other driver to ride a Unidas vehicle?

    The renter may nominate up to 4 additional drivers in the rental contract. This nomination implies on paying a current fee for each additional appointed driver.

    12 - How does the service fee work?

    The renter must pay a 12% service fee over the total amount of the contract when the vehicle is picked at any shop in airports and 10% one on the rest of the shops.

    13 - What is Protection?

    It’s an amount corresponding to each daily rate and paid by the renter to be covered against risks to the vehicle, its passengers, other cars and people. Unidas offers you a great range of different protections for your safety. . Partial Protection – PP . Special Protection – SP . Super Protection – SP . Junior Protection – JP . Protection to Passengers – PP . Protection to Outsiders – PO . Protection to Passengers and Outsiders – PPO

    14 - What is included in Unidas Protections?

    1. Partial Protection (PP) (Not included in the daily rate) When you contract Partial Protection the vehicle will be covered against partial risks in case of collision, fire, robbery or total loss being mandatory a take part by the renter. 2. Special Protection (SP) (Not included in the daily rate) When you contract Special Protection the vehicle will be covered against partial risks in case of collision, fire, robbery or total loss being mandatory a take part by the renter. The difference between Special and Partial protection is on the mandatory take part by the renter. In the first one it’s half. 3. Super Protection (SP) (Not included in the daily rate) It covers similarly the risks mentioned above but also injuries to the passengers of the rented vehicle and damages and/or injuries to another car and their passengers (analog to Protection to Passengers and Outsiders) but with very minor values on the take part asked in Special Protection and Partial Protection. This protection is available at all shops and groups of vehicles. 4. Junior Protection (JP) (Not included in the daily rate) The Junior Protection allows a renter or additional driver with a driver license with less than two years, who wouldn’t be permitted to rent a car, to do it. It covers risks to the rented vehicle same way to Partial Protection and Special Protection and also damages and injuries as the PPO so you don’t need to contract any other protection. Therefore Junior Protection offers the same coverage of Super Protection but the mandatory take part is the same of Partial Protection. The Junior Protection is available only in the shops and besides selecting it they are obligated to inform the interested renter and/or driver who fits the conditions mentioned above. All electronic confirmation of reserves (at the bottom of the page on Unidas Portal) has a note with the following information: “In case the renter or any of the additional drivers mentioned in the Rental Contract has a less than two years Driver License the protection selected at the reservation will be automatically replaced by Junior Protection (specific for this profile) at the moment of making the rental in the shop and no modification will be allowed on the amount to be paid for it”. Our Central Reserve Center will take the same procedures. 5. Protection to Passengers (PP) (Not included in the daily rate) Coverage against injuries to passengers of the vehicle in case of accident limited to R$ 20.000,00 per passenger. 6. Protection to Outsiders (PO) (Not included in the daily rate) Partial coverage up to R$ 30.000,00 for damages and R$ 50.000,00 for injuries in case of accidents with the rented vehicle involving outsiders no matter how many people in the other car or involved in the accident. It’s mandatory to the renter a taking part of up to R$ 1.000,00 for all rentals independently of group. 7. Protection to Passengers and Outsiders (PPO) (Not included in the daily rate) Passengers of the rented vehicle: coverage of injuries to them in case of accident limited to R$ 20.000,00 per passenger. It’s mandatory a take part of the renter of up to R$ 1.000,00 for all groups of cars. Outsiders: this protection offers partial coverage up to R$ 30.000,00 for damages and up to R$ 50.000,00 for injuries in case of accidents with a rented vehicle which involves other people. PPO can’t be contracted alone and must always be associated to PP (Partial Protection) and SP (Special Protection).

    15 - How to proceed if there’s an accident?

    1) You must communicate any occurrence immediately to the 24 Hours Unidas Central Assistance through phone number 0800 772 0994 or any of our shops. 2) You must present a Police Occurrence Report in a Unidas shop in 72 hours at most or its protocol at maximum 24 hours of the accident. You are dispensed of that if a small damage happened without involvement of others. 3) You must to fill the Unidas Accidents Form available at any shop of our company. 4) In case of small damages without involving others it’s not necessary to present the Police Occurrence Report.

    16 - What should I do not to lose the right to protections?

    To guarantee the benefits offered by the contracted protection you need: 1) To respect conditions of the Contract for Renting a Vehicle and Additional Remarks. 2) To respect Traffic Legislation. 3) To communicate any occurrence immediately to a Unidas shop or our 24 hours Assistance Center through the phone nr. 0800 772 0994. 4) To present a Police Occurrence Report in a Unidas shop in 72 hours at most or its protocol at maximum 23 hours of the accident. You are dispensed of that if a small damage happened without involvement of others. 5) To fill the Unidas Accidents Form available at any shop of our company. To enjoy of the coverage offered by PPO the renter and additional drive must, besides fulfilling all conditions mentioned above, present the documents proofing expenses, in a single opportunity, according the item 7.3 of the Contract for Renting a Vehicle and Additional Remarks as, once started the process of analyzing a reimbursement demand, no more supporting document may be added. Renter will lose their right to the contracted protection if any of the hypothesis mentioned on the item 7.6 of the Contract for Renting a Vehicle and Additional Remarks happens and will undertake all the arising costs of the occurrence and its consequences. If the renter doesn’t contract any of the protections PP or SP, included or not PPO, they will undertake all liabilities for damages that may happen to the rented vehicle and also the civil responsibilities for his passengers and others.

    17 - I’ve rented a vehicle in my name but someone else, not mentioned in the contract, is driving it. Do I have any right to protection?

    No, for sure. The rented vehicle is only protected if all the drivers are mentioned in the Contract for Renting.
